Richard Jasnow

Seiten 37 - 66

Publication of two cartonnage fragments, designated P. Tebt. 14,433+14,434, in the collection of The Center for the Tebtunis Papyri at the University of California/Berkeley. Dating approximately to the Third Century B.C. the Demotic fragments preserve part of a ritual text or mythological narrative. Numerous subjects are touched upon in the text, including the birth of Horus, but the main topic seems to be the battle between Re and Apophis. Other deities also appear in the composition, such as Sopdu, Nemesis, Geb, Horus, Osiris, and Nun.
